A Little About Me....

A Little About Me....

The first time I heard anything about celebrancy is when my mother died in 2016. The Funeral Director explained the options and we chose a celebrant to carry out my mother's funeral. Sometimes you just know when you have done the right thing. I felt uplifted and took comfort from the ceremony. I knew it was exactly what my mother would have wanted. There were poems and my mother's favourite music. I felt we had given her the best possible send off and my grief was eased by this.

Another thought struck me as I watched the celebrant, I knew I had found my calling. I wanted to be a funeral celebrant and bring comfort to others grieving. It would be a way to transform my own sadness into something of service to others.

So, I left a lovely career for an even better one: - to celebrate the triumph of the human spirit.

Later that year I completed my training with Civil Ceremonies Ltd and I gained my NOCN Level 3 Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy.

Aside from having the best career, I enjoy travelling, stunt kite flying and swimming. I live 20 minutes outside of west London in leafy Buckinghamshire. .
